As Chief Operating Officer at L&S Advisors, Ian Manongdo is responsible for maintaining efficient firm operations, promoting stable cross-functional teams, and supporting the firm’s technology and IT platforms.

In 2021, Ian was promoted to the role of COO at L&S Advisors.  In his new role, Ian expanded his duties to include overseeing the growth of the firm into new opportunities and guiding the firm’s business development efforts.

Prior to joining L&S in 2016, Ian served as Senior Operations Trader for Wedbush Asset Management in downtown Los Angeles, where he managed daily reconciliation of over 4,000 accounts totaling $1.5 Billion in AUM across three platforms. In this position, he also led the implementation of and firm-wide training on a new—and much anticipated—wealth management technology platform. Ian started his career as an investment trader with the Hawaii-based firm Cadinha & Company.

Ian is a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served in Okinawa, Japan from 2000-2004. He earned his B.A. in economics from Hawaii Pacific University in 2008 and holds a Series 65 Uniform Investment Adviser Law securities license.

On the personal side

Ian hails from Hawaii (all his family still lives in Oahu). He relocated to Los Angeles to further his career in the big city, but he continues to enjoy an island way of life by surfing the California coast and hiking the Santa Monica mountain ranges. He also stays active by playing in local basketball leagues, practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and riding his bike. You can also find him exploring the city for good sushi and Açai bowls.

Something you may not know about Ian

Prior to his career in finance, Ian put his military skills to work as a security agent for high-threat individuals at prominent security firm. In other words, he’s not a guy you want to mess with. But he’d rather demonstrate his mixology skills. As a former bartender, he can make you an Old Fashioned to die for.
